Government in a New Era: De-Regulating Medical Services

If you could see a doctor at home and save the commute, wouldn’t it be easier? If there were a computer doctor, would you believe its diagnosis? What if the medical data of a hospital can be circulated, would there be a loophole to our personal information? Can the current laws and regulations keep up with the rapid advancement of medical technology? How should the government fix and loosen medical regulations to keep up with global medical technology trends and improve the quality of medical services?

The Fair Winds Foundation and Spark Taiwan is co-organizing the Breakthrough Forum panel on “Government in a New Era: De-Regulating Medical Services” featuring Dean Shia Ben-chang of the College of Management, Taipei Medical University; Director Arthur Chen of BE Capital, Fair Winds Foundation Executive Director and attorney Jacklyn Tsai, and Assistant Executive Director I-chien Jan of BioHub Taiwan, National Biotechnology Research Park (NBRP). The panelists will discuss the current state, challenges, and future of medical technology in Taiwan. The panel will be moderated by Yang Yu-hsin, honorary advisor of the Legislative Yuan, and brainstorm opportunities for the development of Taiwan’s medical technology.
